| A homeless child in Ache, Indonesia |

|
The
lack of shelter or housing can be detrimental to the well-being and the life of a child. After food and water shelter is the
next vital requirement to sustain a child’s life. But a home is more than a shelter or a place to
eat and sleep. A home can provide the necessary security to protect a child’s innocent mind and body.
A home can keep a child warm on a cold night and out of the elements such as the sun, rain and snow. A
home can protect a child from insects that carry deadly diseases such as malaria, yellow and dengue fever. Finally,
a home can provide the stability, which can allow the child to build self-worth, confidence and character.
